Abang Falls, Bangui, Ilocos Norte

Updated: Mar 18, 2023

Ahoy there, wanderlusters! Bangui, Ilocos Norte has got some juicy gems for you to discover, from the powdery beaches to the towering windmills. But hold on to your hats because we're about to take you on another adventure - Abang Falls! Nestled in the Southwestern mountainous hills of Barangay Lanao, this waterfall is a sight to behold. The water cascades through boulders and stones like a silky veil, providing a perfect backdrop for your leisurely downtime.

The two pictures show the first and second layers of the waterfalls. Going to the second layer will require you to climb a metal stairway.

So, how do you get there, you may ask? Well, buckle up, buttercup! From Laoag, hop on a jeepney or bus through the Laoag-Cagayan route. Once you reach Dumalneg Marker, take a right and keep going until you spot the Iglesia Ni Cristo Church, then hang a right. The barangay road beside the church will lead you to the falls. You'll know you're on the right track when you spot the sign, or better yet, two water impounding structures that complete the scene.

Now, we don't want you to miss a beat, so we're giving you a sneak peek of what's in store for you. Check out the first and second layers of the waterfall in these pictures. But wait, there's more! If you're feeling adventurous, climb up the metal stairway to the second layer and see what else Abang Falls has to offer. Trust us, it's worth the extra legwork!

So, pack your bags, grab your cameras, and let's chase waterfalls!

Behind is the lower layer of the falls.

Going up the second layer.

Right after you step out, this is what you will see.

Please, when you are in a beautiful place like this, do not destroy it. Here, visitors just dumped their garbage.

ALWAYS REMEMBER:Leave nothing but FOOTPRINT, Take nothing but PICTURES and Kill nothing but TIME.
